Dr. Crista Walker has been providing family and
cosmetic dentistry in the Tsawwassen area since 1998. Raised in
Nepean, Ontario by a University professor and a physiotherapist,
her family traveled extensively during her youth including several
year long stays in England and France where she developed a passion
for language and travel as well as a greater appreciation for
people from all different backgrounds.
Dr. Crista moved to Alberta just before her senior year of high
school where she graduated with a prestigious Canada Scholarship
for Science. She went on to pursue a degree in Zoology with a minor
in Psychology at the University of Calgary matriculating on the
Dean’s List. During this intense scientific degree Dr. Crista
volunteered with sick kids at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and
tutored other children in French. In her free time she was and
still is passionate about painting, drawing and photography. Her
love of art and passion for science made dentistry the perfect
career choice.
Her background working with children and her minor in psychology
have given her the patience, experience and understanding to create
a dental practice that caters to the child in everyone. This was
the inspiration for her current slogan “Caring for Kids and
Cowards”.
In 1998 Dr. Crista graduated from the University of Alberta
School of Dentistry in Edmonton, Alberta. Four years of cold
weather encouraged her to move to the lower mainland where she
bought a practice with a classmate. After 5 years together Dr.
Crista expanded her practice to its current location in sunny
Tsawwassen where she is the sole practitioner.
In 2004 she took her assitant to Haiti and provided dentistry in
an orphanage for the children and their families. So far that is
one of the highlights of her dental career, and her life. Today,
Dr. Crista is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry, the Canadian Dental Association, the BC Task Force for
Adult Dental Health and Dr. Matheson's Prosthodontic Study Club.
She is also a past member of the Board of Directors for the
BC Dental Association. She prides herself on providing
dentistry of the highest quality in an environment designed to feel
comforting just like home. In her free time she enjoys running and
fitness training, reading, television and traveling to cultivate
and perpetuate her love of photography and art. She is a long time
supporter of the Vancouver Art Gallery and currently enrolled in a
photography program at Langara College in Vancouver.
